News Release: Bibby Marine becomes an honorary member of the British Irish Chamber of Commerce
Bibby Marine, a leading provider of offshore access and accommodation vessels, has been made an honorary annual member of the British Irish Chamber of Commerce.
The British Irish Chamber of Commerce is a membership organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting trade and investment between Britain and Ireland, with members including some of the world’s largest companies.
Recently celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Chamber plays a vital role in maintaining focus on the value of two-way trade between the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Bibby Marine’s CEO, Nigel Quinn, is delighted to be part of it.
“The Chamber does incredible work in promoting and developing trade relations between our two countries, which is more important than ever given the current economic climate. We’re honoured to be associated with such a respected organisation and look forward to working together to maximise opportunities for maritime businesses on both sides of the Irish Sea.”
With 35GW+ of offshore wind planned for Ireland before 2050, now is an exciting time to be involved in the energy sector, and Bibby Marine is looking forward to playing its part in developing this vital industry. Bibby Marine’s vessels have supported a number of major offshore wind farms around the UK and Europe, including Ørsted’s Walney Extension in the Irish Sea, RWE’s Galloper in the Southern North Sea and EnBW’s Hohe See in the German North Sea.
Nigel concludes; “We have a strong track record in providing access and accommodation vessels for the construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms, and we’re confident that our expertise will be in high demand as Ireland looks to capitalise on its huge renewable energy potential. With our focus on zero-emission technologies, we’re also well placed to support the decarbonisation of the maritime sector and look forward to playing our part in this crucial transition.”
Bibby Marine is committed to supporting the growth of the offshore wind industry in Ireland and looks forward to working closely with the British Irish Chamber of Commerce to help realise this ambition.
