Bibby Marine aims to promote the varied career opportunities that are available within the marine industry.
Bibby Marine is currently partnered with Clyde Marine Training, offering marine engineering cadetship courses to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for life at sea, with four cadets currently working on Bibby Marine vessels.
Bibby Marine and Clyde Marine Training joined forces to form a strategic partnership aimed at delivering a high quality, holistic cadet programme. Our collective objective is to identify skills for the future, through sourcing the highest quality applications capable of following a structured career path from Cadet to Senior Officer.

A day in the life of a Second Officer onboard Bibby WaveMaster 1
“I was awarded Apprentice of the Year towards the end of my cadetship, which gave me a real sense of achievement that I had attained the standard required to start my career as a qualified officer. I’m looking forward to progressing through the onboard ranks, to take command of a ship of my own in the future.”

Former cadet – now Second Officer

Bibby Marine is committed to long-term career opportunities through our structured programme with Clyde Marine and we are dedicated to ensuring cadets are able to gain enough sea time to progress further into their career. We believe that cadetships are vital to future-proof skills within the industry, whilst also creating pathways for the leaders of tomorrow.
Bibby Marine also supports the Maritime UK Careers at Sea Ambassadors programme, which aims to reduce the lack of awareness of the maritime industry, by encouraging young people of the UK to explore the possibility of a career at sea. Our colleagues are ambassadors of the programme, and also volunteer and attend careers events to promote the industry they love.
“The highlight of my cadetship was probably the drydock for Bibby WaveMaster 1, I joined the ship last minute and I didn’t know anyone so I was really nervous, but the crew were so supportive. It ended up being my favourite and most informative part of the cadetship.”
