The premise is simple – our vessels can be floated alongside your project, shore or coastline, to provide accommodation for workers, offering no additional travel time.
Our floating accommodation barges are especially attractive for use in remote locations, where workers are brought in and there is no suitable on-land accommodation, which can prove costly and timely to build. Once your project is complete, they can be simply “floated” away.
Bibby Marine is the owner and operator of five floating accommodation barges, “floatels,” which offer comfortable, flexible, and affordable shoreside and nearshore living solutions for clients in a variety of different industries, across the globe.

Why choose floating

Our floating accommodation barges can be moored at berths or quays. We can also offer various berthing solutions, such as dredging temporary docks, stacking barges, and using piles and collars.
We have supported projects globally and collaborate with clients to determine the best mooring solutions for their specific needs. Our approach is client-focused and adaptable, allowing our barges to operate effectively in a variety of locations.
On-board we offer the full package – comfortable and quality rooms with additional features such as gyms, bars and full kitchen. Allowing the flexibility to relax, work and socialise on board.
Our barges can accommodate up to 600 personnel, have serviced the needs of clients across the globe. We are currently operating worldwide on various projects.
Solutions for hard to reach places with minimal infrastructure is purely a test of our engineering prowess!

With Scandi style Bibby Bergen houses 180 en suite bedrooms (including TVs). Facilities on board include a fully furnished kitchen and restaurant, relaxation rooms and laundry facilities.
Suitable for a range of climates around the world, with air conditioning throughout Bibby Challenge has received excellent feedback from guests living onboard.
Refurbished with spacious en-suite rooms, Bibby Progress offers high quality accommodation and modern amenities.
Resistant to category 4 cyclones, fully air conditioned and offering independent power generation, sewage treatment and water storage systems onboard, make Bibby Renaissance ideal for remote projects.
With natural ventilation and Starlink internet connection throughout, Bibby Stockholm provides a great solution for projects across the globe.

Westinghouse were modernising a large part of their nuclear power plant in Ringhals, Sweden, and needed around 300 rooms for Swedish, German and American workers brought in for the project. Bibby Challenge was well suited to this brief.
